  Welcome to the Website of The Glass Slipper.

  Based in Dunfermline, The Glass Slipper has been operating for over 10 years. In 2008, it was taken over by Lauren Girdwood, who got her own Wedding Dress there in 2001 and fell in love with the boutique.

  At The Glass Slipper, we believe that customer service is paramount, and that your search for your perfect gown should be as pleasurable and stress-free as possible.

  The Glass Slipper offers a friendly but professional service, and we'll strive to exceed your expectations of us. Every Bride is special, and we want choosing your gown to be an experience you'll remember fondly. Our aim is that you leave our Boutique happy, relaxed, and confident that you have chosen the dress of your dreams.

  We advise that for your first appointment you allow one to one-and-a-half hours and that you bring one or two people who know you well and will give you an honest opinion.

  Children are always welcome, but appointments and fittings can be very boring for them, and subsequently distracting for you.

  Alterations

  Once your gown has been delivered, we can recommend a dressmaker to make any alterations necessary to ensure it fits perfectly. Approximately eight weeks before your big day, contact us to arrange a fitting appointment at the boutique with our highly experienced Dressmaker.

  Alteration charges are paid directly to the Dressmaker.

  Dress Preparation

  To ensure your gown looks fantastic on your big day, we offer a complimentary dress steaming service. Simply bring your gown in a week before your wedding day, and we will steam it, removing any creases.

  If you did not purchase your dress from us, we offer a chargeable steaming service. The current prices are £10 for a bridesmaid, prom, or evening dress, and between £40 and £60 for a bridal gown.

  Please note that we cannot steam silk dresses.

  Morning of the Wedding

  To ensure you are able to relax and enjoy the morning of your wedding, we offer a Bridal Dressing Service. We will travel to your home to assist with the fitting and staging of your dress.

  The service includes a planning meeting a week or so before the big day, so any details can be discussed. We'll also pick up your dresses for steaming at this time.

  The package cost is:

  Dressing the bride: £50

  Dressing the bridesmaids: £10 each

  This service is normally only offered to brides who live within 15 miles of the boutique. If you live further away than this and want to use the service, please call us to discuss.

  When it's all over

  To ensure your gown is lovely to look at for years to come, we can arrange for it to be cleaned and boxed. Simply have it dropped off at the boutique after your wedding, and we will have it ready when you return from your honeymoon.

  The current price for this service is:

  Cleaning Only: £50

  Cleaning and Boxing: £100

  If you wish to arrange for your dress to be cleaned separately, but would still like to store it in one of our gorgeous boxes, the box prices are:

  Small Box: £60

  Large Box: £75

  * Saturday is our busiest day, and whilst appointments aren't strictly necessary, to avoid disappointment we would advise that you make one. You are still welcome to browse the gowns without an appointment.
